My name is Robert Dipboye (pronounced Duh – boy). I know. It’s a strange name. Probably was DuBois at some time in the page and as happened so many times in American history, got twisted over the years. I am an organizational social psychologist who has taught at four universities and dabbled in a bit of consulting. Now a Professor Emeritus, I have time to pursue long time interests that the demands of employment prevented me from pursuing. One of these is the intersection of history and psychology, the subject of this blog. I hold strong beliefs about the issues of the day (even though I do not see this blog as a venting of these beliefs). On the personal side, I enjoy the beaches and spring weather in Florida where I live (not so much the summers!). I have a loving spouse, a pesky retired Greyhound, too many hobbies, and a desire to learn Spanish and the Ukelele. Although life is not always bliss, I have few complaints.
